Project 2025 is a 920-page Republican blueprint to radically reshape government with far-right policies and replace 50,000 non-partisan public servants with Trump loyalists on day one if he wins 2024.
🚨 Monthly Update: June 2024
This month’s newsletter has a bit of a different tone. First, if you haven’t heard of “Project 2025” please continue reading and spread awareness among as many American voters as you possibly can. This is urgent.
Comfortable talking politics with friends and family? Make sure they know. Uncomfortable talking politics with friends and family? Suck it up, this is important. If they can vote, we need their help right now.
If there is one thing to convey, it’s this:
“Plans include firing up to 50,000 federal workers and replacing them with individuals who align with conservative values.”
Meaning only political loyalists will serve in these positions which are normally reserved for non-partisan federal employees who serve across administrations—if you don’t pass the loyalty test to Trump and Project 2025, you’re out. They’ll find a yes-man to replace you.
For an overview of the whole plan that’s not too overwhelming, check out Joyce Vance’s piece on Project 2025, from which I copied the above image: a sample of 100 registered US voters which shows that most people knew almost nothing about Project 2025—even Democrats.

The Explorer’s Guide to Surface Life
We’re still cooking with AI art over here at Hanlon’s Reader, for full disclosure. It’s like learning the dark arts, you know? This project stemmed from my fascination with making blended hybrid creatures using AI art.
I was showing my wonderful wife, my muse, some of the most horrifying and weird stuff DALL-E spat out. Then I actually got some good results, wrote out the first drafts of my “nature documentary” style Lotus Wasp and Octopider posts, and she just started reading aloud as though she was Sir David Attenborough on an alien planet, peering out of some little hideaway narrating the toils of these creatures.
So I fully committed to the voice and maintained the narrative style of “Sir Davis Astenbarrow” throughout this series. You’ll also find some overarching tie-ins to my other stories and hints at the history of the wider universe. He’s got a huckster’s spirit though, so don’t let the grandfatherly British accent fool you as he spins tales of how perfectly safe the frighteningly dangerous Surface wildlife can be, if only you buy the right equipment and supplies at Asten-Mart...
Next up in the series will be the elusive Mossy Bearded Croakbat!

The Heritage Foundation, which is the central organization in Project 2025, has gone full MAGA, even to the point of flying an upside down flag. However, the seed was there from the organization's inception in 1973. Paul Weyrich, one of the co-founders, was also a co-founder of the Moral Majority. Project 2025 is a blueprint for Christian Nationalism and the merging of Church and State.
Thank you for calling attention to this danger. This November is an all hands on deck moment. Nobody can afford to sit this one out.
Good for you, James, to use your Substack to broadcast word about the disastrous Project 2025! Defeating the Trump/MAGA bid to take power in the U.S. is priority #1…no matter who is the Democratic candidate.
