This same person -C. Wilhelm Crazy-pants Spangle- called me the EXACT SAME THING. I honestly can't decide if that's hilarious or if my feelings are hurt because he's so incapable of creativity and original thinking he is forced to use the same insult over and over when I'm pretty certain none of the people he's calling that are anywhere near aligned like that. But then again he may have called literally everyone saying a variety of things that he's decided are in need of his attention this kind of oddly specific 4 word phrase made mostly of slurs and cursing. I've seen similar terms from him to others but I hadn't seen the exact one I got. It was "antisemitic slur""loving" Zionist "prostitute of rear" basically. I don't have a problem with cursing but I won't repeat slurs. It was interesting to me because I get other nasty comments when I suggest that maybe we should not be supporting this level of military violence on a closed-in highly populated civilian population especially women and families and doctors and journalists. Then I'm the antisemite. I can't be both crazy-pants folks. I highly recommend the response of being very polite except for the crazy-pants part. Clarence DOES not like being called that AT ALL. I blocked him because it's stupid to keep triggering the actual Nazis but "crazy-pants" really? Lol That's some fragile masculinity. 🫥
Yeah I was talking to some guy on Notes who was treating Clarence like he's just the resident lil rascal Nazi, just a bit of harmless hate speech you know. I guess part of their whole ideology is really just perpetuating propaganda like Protocols of the Elders of Zion, like literally in a printing press sort of sense.
So by having his Substack set up with each of the protocols in a chapter or something, he can quickly go around and copy/paste his garbage everywhere. And I bet a lot of ex-substackers or old substacks that aren't being tended to/comments removed probably have a lot of his comments floating around
I was very pleased to stumble on your first article on this. The quality of debate had been so overly-simplistic, especially on the free speech/Elysian letter end (and I like Elle a lot! - she's the reason I'm on Substack in the first place).

Somehow if you are believe in human equality you inadvertently become so many people online. I am not pretending to be a Hamasnik, a zionist, an antisemite or a Jew...or a Russian or transgender, or a shitlib or a leftist. Or a white man or a proponent of MAGA--I forgot about those. I don’t even play any of these people on TV. I guess it makes sense you would get taken for a lot of things now if your concern is regularly ‘Oh, no human beings! We are our own worst enemy much of the time. How can we make things work out OK for us?’ Usually, I am saying ‘wait that doesn’t seem true...but what about [insert some fairly evident fact here]?’ and like an X-person I turn into Schlomo or an anti-semite for my interlocutor. Though I am probably too blunt, I rarely have the intention of picking fights and have warm feelings for humans of all kinds except for Nazis (as that is beyond my capacities)
So glad someone appreciated starting with a meme... it's funny how those two frames sum up our situation here with the Nazis. CEO Chris Best's interview from Decoderpod was like a giant beacon for people who just want to spew hate.
He had an opportunity there to make it clear hate speech wouldn't be welcome - to basically say to the Nazis like Spangle that they would be turned away at the door, or at least escorted out once they start shit.
I have loved finding all sorts of content on Substack to fill the information-hole left by X-iting the X-crement site, where I used to go to get trustworthy legal & political analysis of the weird/crazy/scary world. Then there are the non-legal, non-political "communities" I have found here to escape from all that with sane (?) fellow travellers.
That being said, Hamish et al should take a lesson from the descent of 🐦🐦🐦 under the control of the Mu$k🐀... They might be left with JUST Nazis, as some influential contributors have already talked about closing their presence here & going elsewhere. 🤷 Surely they realise that if THEY can set up a site like Substack, so can others⁉️
I am also on post.news, where Nazis are NOT tolerated, and it started from scratch just over a year ago, so it can be done (and if nothing changes here, one could argue SHOULD be done🤔) Thanks for using your way with words to articulate so clearly, and share what other articulate people have said, so that we can understand the problem is NOT about "free speech" but monetising/promoting hate speech 👏👍 Happy holidays 💜🫂
